Lake Donuzlav
Donuzlav Lake is located in the western part of the Crimean peninsula and belongs to the group Tarkhankutskii lakes. It is the deepest in the Crimea, and an area of forty seven square kilometers.
Because of its historical past and the natural conditions of the lake Donuzlav in his pool is fresh water on the north side and salt water - from the south. Its steep and high banks form a small winding bays. At the bottom of the pond is a ten-layer of silt, which for its healing properties comparable with mud lake Moinaki, and is often used for medicinal purposes.
In ancient times, the lake was surrounded by lush vegetation, the surrounding forests are home to many animals, including wild boar. Today by visiting this amazing place, you can see a lot of birds. Most of them are chosen for their northern nesting Donuzlava where the shallow water from the lake bottom hit fresh springs. Nature lovers are able to look at the white-winged terns, ducks, gerbils large, small-pichuzhek kamyshevok, migrating warblers, garden warblers and gorgeous purple herons.
While vacationing in the southern part of the lake, you can go fishing. On Donuzlave excellent bite larichka, mullet, goby, goatfish, horse mackerel and other marine fish. Because of the unusual vegetation not characteristic plain Crimea, the northern part of the lake and the adjacent territory in 1947 was declared a nature reserve. In Soviet times, the lake was considered a top-secret Donuzlav. On its shores until 1994 was located Crimean naval base of the Black Sea Fleet. Its composition includes divisions ships fighter and anti-aircraft. Nowadays Donuzlav Lake and its surroundings are a great place to stay. Even in the season of storms remain calm waters of the lake due to the small width of the strait that connects the Black Sea basin.
