The Vil'nians'k Local History Museum

The first museum in Volnyansk was opened in 1971 thanks to the active work of the city`s residents. Later   in 1995, at its base joined local museum. Museum funds keep about 2,000 objects. Basically there are presented everyday objects, stories, documents and art exhibits.

The entire museum exposition is divided into   7 thematic halls: the first hall "Settling" is devoted to history of the region since the advent of the first inhabitants here, and until the 19th century. Two halls are devoted to the history of the October Revolution and the Second World War in the city. Here are presented the documents of the time, tools and military equipment. In "Modern room" exhibits temporary exhibitions, mostly there are presented works by local artists. Also, an exhibition, "People Volnyansk", "City at the beginning of the 20th century", "The history of the city in 1920-1930."

Museum staff   are active in non-fiction work based on the collection of the museum organizes various exhibitions, collected materials on Volnyansk for scientific publications, magazines and Internet resources.
