Mykola Cathedral

Nicholas church in Kiev, included in the list of the most beautiful buildings in the city. The temple is located on the street Big Vasylkivska. Nicholas church is one of two Roman Catholic churches built in the capital.

History Nicholas Church

  • After 1917, Nicholas church closed.

  • In 1943 Nicholas church burned.
  • A few years later on the orders of local authorities restored the church, which is located after the Republican House of Organ and Chamber Music. It was installed stained glass windows, wooden floors instead of ceramic tiles on the floor and placed the main instrument - the body.
  • In 1992, the Roman Catholic community won the right to hold back here worship.
  • In 2001, the temple was visited by Pope John Paul II.
