The Monument to the Guardian Angel of Ukraine
On Nezalezhnosti Square in the city of Kirovograd you can see the unique Monument to Guardian Angel of Ukraine. The monument was erected in 2004 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Kirovograd and in honour of the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Christ. The authors of this monument, the sculptor Anatoliy Gonchar and the architect Vitaliy Kryvenko used 2000m ² of paving blocks and 350m ² of architectural and construction products. To create this masterpiece, granites from Voinovs’kyi, Kapustyns’kyi and Krups’k deposits were used. The monument was erected through the efforts of entities, businesses as well as citizens of the city. The Monument to Ukraine's Guardian Angel is a three-meter bronze statue of an angel, which stands on the column of 9 meters high on Nezalezhnosti Square.
You might see an inscription "God, bless Ukraine" on the monument, which is considered one of the seven wonders of the city and is a unique talisman of the country.
