Tash-Khan Caravanserai
Bilohirsk city is located 42 kilometers from Simferopol. In the center of town until today the remains of a large medieval caravanserai Tash Khan, whose name translates as "Stone Palace."
Being in a favorable geographical position, Tash Khan in the Middle Ages was an important trading center. Erected a caravanserai in the 15th century, its thick walls with loopholes surrounded by beautiful and spacious yard. From the outside the caravanserai located slave market, where in Egypt, Turkey, Venice, Genoa and other countries exported thousands of slaves.
Upper or large Tash Khan was erected on the orders of the Grand Vizier of the dynasty width. Its size was more like a fortress. On the west side of the building was a rectangular entrance, equipped as a massive arch. Today, tourists can see the remains of the ancient walls of smooth, which were built of stones of irregular shape, the thickness of some of them reached one hundred and fifty centimeters.
