The National University of Ostroh Academy

Would you like to visit the university, which is one of the first appeared in Eastern Europe? Then you should definitely look into the Ostrog Academy. This is the oldest educational institution was founded by Prince Constantine of Ostrog in the late 16th century. His school was a powerful center of learning at that time. Now the school has become a stand-alone research university.

In the old days there was opened a printing house, which became famous for being the first released in Ukraine "Primer" and many well-known "Ostrog Bible." The existence of the academy ceased after appeared in the city college of Jesuits. Revive this institution already in our times - in 1994.

The Academy is located in a historic building that belonged to the Order of Capuchins. Buildings date from the second half of the 18th century. At the Academy is a museum. Visitors have the opportunity to visit the dungeons of the former Capuchin monastery and see the unique exhibits are displayed in seven halls of the museum.
