Theotokos Cathedral in Bratslav

Church of the Mother of God - a unique Catholic church in Bratslav. First wooden church was built here in 1540, but 12 years later, during the raid, he was destroyed by the Tatars. In the 60s of the 17th century thanks to the efforts of the whole community of the city began construction of a new temple , under the patronage of the Virgin. Later, here comes a unique miraculous icon of the Mother of God the holy Scapular. Construction marble church lasted for over 100 years and was completed in 1865.

The church was closed in 1930, but during the German occupation was again active. After the war, the church once again closed its doors for the parishioners, here is located the local house of culture, so it continued until 1990. Since independence, the temple was renovated.

Now Church of the Mother of God is a spiritual center for all Catholics Bratslav city and Vinnitsa region.
