Pokrovska Church (Parkhomivka)

Church of the Intercession in Parkhomovka is considered to be the main attraction of the local surroundings. Graceful and picturesque, luxurious and grand, sophisticated to the smallest detail, which has no analogues in the architecture for hundreds of miles around, unmatched Intercession Church was conceived as a charity event for the simple peasants of the village Parkhomovka.

Its founder was a wealthy industrialist and engineer Viktor Fedorovich Golubev. Among his interests have always treated antiques, fine art and artwork. Since 1903, he began construction of its own funds Intercession Church. The project involved the architect Pokrovsky, the Annunciation, the artist Roerich, master mosaic works. By the summer of 1906 large-scale construction has been completed, although the author did not live up to the remarkable date, died in February 1903. The successors of the great things Golubev became his sons Victor and Leo are perfectly coped with the task, giving the Kiev region a real work of architectural art.

Pokrovsky church was built in the neo-Russian traditional manner with valid elements of modern, popular in the early 20th century (the main gate of the church made in this style). The temple complex includes all the necessary elements of the church and the building: a large bell tower, rounded dome and a separate chapel, called in the name of St. Victor. Here you can conduct worship services, even if the Liturgy is already taking place in the main hall of the church. On the facade there is a picture "Protection of the Virgin", and inside the high walls are decorated with thematic paintings. Next to the temple in 1994 a monument was erected engineer Golubev, philanthropist and founder of the Church of the Intercession.
