Art Arsenal (The Citadel)

For several years in Kiev to create one of the most ambitious cultural projects in Ukraine - cultural and artistic complex "Arsenal of Arts".

The museum building itself is unique and belongs to the world`s architectural monuments. Arsenal was a complex of buildings of the Old Pechersk fortress. Citadel was designed by the famous German architect Johann Miller. Fortress built in 1716 by order of Peter I.

The transformation of the old Arsenal in the museum complex began in 2003. The territory is very large, so restoration work mostly still under way. In the future there will be placed information centers, electronic libraries, conference rooms, bookstores, classrooms. But most importantly, there will be exhibited hundreds of exhibits from all the museums of Ukraine. Exhibits cover the 20 thousand years of history of Ukrainian art. There is a lot to see and a lot to learn!

Today in Arsenal flock flows of tourists from across the country. The building of the Citadel regularly hosts exhibitions, mostly of contemporary art, and art events, which often highlights current issues of humanity. Arsenal - the perfect place to dive into the wonderful world of culture.
