Museum of Cossacks, Hermanivka
In Obukhov district of Kyiv region, south of the capital is the ancient village Hermanivka. The first mention of the settlement at this point there are more in the annals from 1096, before the village bore the name Germanich. The history of the village is directly linked with the Cossacks. Exactly Hermanivka occurred in the Black Rada, there were reading Hadiach contract September 11, 1659. The village is located the grave of Cossack colonels: Sulima and Prokop Vereshchak.
The museum was opened in the premises of the Cossacks the manufacturing shop, which was built in 1904. He is one of the regional branches of the Archaeological Museum. The museum exposition is completely devoted to historical events in Hermanivka and throughout Ukraine, since the Bronze Age until our time. Funds of the museum presented in two halls and divided into two thematic exhibitions. The first room - Historic (artifacts from the Bronze Age to the late 19th century), the second room - the modern history of the area since the early 20th century to the present day.
Hermanivka - is not just a settlement on the map of Ukraine. This village - the spiritual symbol of the Cossacks, the desire for freedom and the will of the Ukrainian people.
