Bernardine Church and Monastery, Gusyatin
This religious building was built in the village Gusyatin Ternopil region in the period from 1610 to 1625. The complex appeared thanks to the efforts of the rich Pole A. Kalinowski. In 1610, he passed into the possession of Bernardine wooden monastery, which after 10 years was demolished, and in its place erected a new stone church in the Baroque style and two-storey monastery.
Years of construction of the complex coincided with the rebellious time struggle of Ukrainian people and Cossacks against the domination of Poland and planting of the Catholic faith in Ukraine. The church and monastery were looted and destroyed during the raid of Cossacks in 1648 and the attack of the Tatars in 1672.
Recovery Complex contributed Hetman A. Senyavskaya. Since 1723 the temple was made available by the Roman Catholic believers. During the rule of Austria monastery was closed. In Soviet times, the church became inoperative.
Restore the most "affected" parts of the temple took place in 1975. In 1991, the complex was given to the Franciscans.
