Rukomyshski cave
On the south side of the village Rukomysh hard not to notice travertine rock 20 meters high - is rukomyshskie cave. At the bend of the river rise limestone boulders, creating a surprisingly beautiful landscape. Framework for such a beautiful picture of nature itself of the small waterfalls, jets that run on the rocks, and fall into a creek. And today, you can see two caves, once chosen by the people. Local residents, who remember the 40s of the last century, say that the villagers are not just hiding in those rocks from the enemy.
The basis of the cave complex became a temple of the Holy Sepulchre. For him, in the 13th century Kievan monks chose the large cave and extended it to the desired size. Near the cave temple has several small cells, made by human hands.
In the second half of the 18th century at the foot of the cliff ball Onufrievskaya built church, which today is a sculpture of St. Onuphrius made of wood sculptor J. Pinzel outstanding.
