Church of the Intercession, Sosnitsa

Village Sosnytsia known Ukrainian moviegoers especially those that are born Alexander Dovzhenko. There is also the ancient Church of the Intercession, which is one of the few in the village went through difficult Soviet period.

The history of the church of the Intercession

Temple was built in 1724 on the site of the old church, but in 1847 it was rebuilt completely. Despite the restructuring, features preserved traditional Cossack church: p`yatydilna structure, baroque frames accomplishments. Church of the Intercession looked somewhat archaic because of its rather big proportions and unusual curvature of the walls. Inside the church are preserved oil biblical subjects.

In the second half of the 30s of last century Virgin Church was closed, but during the German occupation of the temple opened and conducted worship here. The second time the church was closed in the 60`s. In the building of the church placed a driving school. To machines was convenient stop off in one of the walls vypylyaly large aperture. Then there arranged composition. Worship in the Church of the Intercession restored in 1989.

In 2010, the church of the Intercession dismantled for the purpose of restoration. The local community was extremely unhappy. It is not surprising, because the only remaining tower, a renovated church does not like the old church.
