National Park "Verhovinsky"
In the most remote and remote places of the Ukrainian Carpathians at the origins of the White and Black Cheremosh is State Reserve "Verkhovyna". This is a huge area of marvelous beauty, which stretch of forest, meadows, and meadows, rivers, mountains and valleys. The park was created in 2010 with the purpose of operating the recreational opportunities the mountain ranges of the Ukrainian Carpathians - Chyvchyny and Hryniava, but the idea of its creation was in the air for a long time. Even in 1930 grinyavsky forester J. Tyurkot turned Lviv administration national forests with a request to pay special attention to these original natural systems.
But only in the 90s of the last century to heed the request of the forester and established a panoramic "Chivchin-Grinyavsky" (area of 7243 ha) and hydrological "Black Cheremosh river to the coastal strip" (the area of 1740 hectares) regional reserves.
Now this unique park of national importance was the fifth in a row on the subject of environmental Ivano-Frankivsk land. This means that the region has reached European standards, according to which not less than 15% of the land area of the state-territorial units should be protected areas that are protected by the state.
In October 2011 the reserve "Verkhovyna" already mapped Ukraine.
The reserve covers 12,022.9 hectares of land. It is situated in regions Grinyavskogo Verkhovynsky and state forest lands. There are natural reserves, valuable in many ways. It provides the necessary conditions to carry out research studies. Park land divided into four environmental research department.
The climate is warm enough passing from Western European continental Eastern European, as it is cool and humid. Winter is relatively mild and summers - warm and damp. Precipitation mainly falls in summer.
The reserve is very rich and generous natural treasures. It presents the majestic mountain landscapes, amazing gorges, pristine beech, pine forests, magnificent canyons White and Black Cheremosh, the origins of which are found here. In the area of the park about 1240 rivers. There are also keys with mineral water.
Flora consists of three types: forest (dominated), marsh and meadow. Meadows scientists divided on forest, alpine and subalpine. Here grow over 700 species of plants. Of these, 59 are in the Red Book of Ukraine - a third of those that occur in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Moreover, the reserve has 32 species of plants, the distribution of which is limited to certain areas.
The most studied type of fauna - a 5 chordate classes (bony fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals). Here live: brown bears, foxes, martens, wolves, deer, wild boar, roe, spotted salamander, golden eagles. Caught and unique fauna, is specific to the area. The Cheremosh and other rivers flowing high in the mountains, are found trout and Danube salmon (Golovach).
