Church of St. Valentine, Kalush

The magnificent church of St. Valentine is located in the center of the city of Kalush . In the 15th century during the reign of the Polish king Casimir Jagiellonian it was built two wooden Catholic church. In place of one of them in 1841 it was built a Catholic church in honor of St. Valentine. The final construction was completed in 1845. The architecture of the new stone church acquired features of the Gothic Revival style.

In the years 1874-1875 the building was subjected to repairs. A year later, a new tower, and another 10 years to build a new altar. A thorough renovation was made in 1903 and the following reconstruction was in the period from 1910 to 1912. The project has built two chapels, side altars, Roofs, windows enlarged and completed tower and some of the elements that are presented today. In subsequent years, the shrine equipment supplemented by some more expensive items.

During the period of hostilities in 1917 it was destroyed by a chapel, a bell and body parts removed. Brothers Felchinskie helped restore the temple, which occurred in 1921. Before the Second World War, the church has a new main altar was electricity. After the war, the church building was used as a sports hall, and then the church was handed over to the UAOC.

Since 1999, the church belongs to the Roman Catholic parish. In 2001 it was repaired. Sanctify the church of St. Valentine in 2008.
