Hall, Kalush

Kalush mentioned in written documents from 1437. It gained city status in 1549, the same year and received Magdeburg Law. Kalush The name comes from the word "kalyusha" natural source of salt - there once was mined salt.
In every city there is a town hall - the place where the seat of the city magistrate. According to some sources, the first town hall in Kalush was built in the 16th century. It was wooden and was situated around the market.
The building is a modern town hall (or rather what was left after the fire) is located not far from the Church of St. Valentine , and turned to him "face". Construction of the town hall dates from the late 19th - early 20th century. The building resembles the letter "D" and was made in the classical style, supplemented with modern elements. I decorate the town hall clock tower corner. In the basement of the building there were several single cells, which served to tame recalcitrant subjects.
Since 1939, the district committee of the party was located in the Town Hall building. And in the 70s of the last century building was agriculture management.
Today, the town hall has remained part of the facade and clock tower. In 2005 began the reconstruction, which was not to be completed, because in 2013, the building burned down.
