Church of Our Lady, Coloma
In the central part of Coloma is the ancient Church of the Virgin Mary, built in 1775.
The creation of the Roman Catholic Church was engaged in well-known architect from Italy B. Meretin. It was built in the Baroque style. The building is located close to the market square. Throughout its history the church several times changed its appearance, and quite dramatically.
Originally the building was a pompous stone cathedral, created wall-tiers decorated with exclusive decor. After a fire in 1895 that destroyed most of the buildings, the church was completely rebuilt. Restoration work in the church took more than a decade. Today the church has several elongated silhouette, rushing into the sky. Large arched windows of the structure gives it elegance and fragility.
In Soviet times the church was closed and converted into a kids` store. His immediate activities temple resumed only in 1991. With this, he became known as the Greek Catholic church of the holy martyr Josaphat Kuntsevych.
