Church of the Intercession, Manyava

Manyava village is considered the most ancient sacred place. It was inhabited already in 5-7 centuries. And it was named "Ukrainian Athos" with time. For centuries, there was a monastery, where two times was the phenomenon of the Holy Mother of God.

Rumors about the miraculous place came to harsh ascetic hermit-monk from Mount Athos Greek Job Knyaginitskogo. The last years of his life he spent in Manyava, where he preached asceticism own ideals, as well as the existence of strict rules. Thanks to him and Manyavsky skit called "Second Athos." And in its place is now located the male Holy Cross Monastery, Manyavsky monastery, founded in 1606. For two centuries it was the most influential monastery in the West of Ukraine: it was subject to a lot of monasteries - more than five hundred.

And there in the village blessed stone, out of which has a healing source of clean water. It is said that just beneath the first monks settled indigenous inhabitants Manyavsky monastery.

Another famous place Manyava - who had taken refuge in the forest thickets waterfall - the most ambitious in the Ukrainian Carpathians, according to various sources in height from 14 to 20 meters.

However, there is another great attraction, sacred place in Manyava - Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin. It was built in 1819 in honor of the religious holiday of Intercession. Located in the center of the village. It belongs to the UOC-KP.
