Church of the Nativity, Tismenitsya

In the historic area of the city Tysmenytsia is the Church of Nativity, built in 1736. Church   It refers to the cross-dome type buildings.   It was built entirely of wood in an old Hutsul style.

All of the houses have five walls of the temple-dome structure and multiple faces. The church porch is made in a rectangular shape. The temple has a canopied. The first tier of the structure from the east made minced, and the west - the carcass, while the upper tiers of the church covers the plate. The third stage is represented by the church elegant arcaded gallery. Not far from the church is a wooden three-tiered bell tower, the construction of which also dates from the 18th century. Approximate date of its re-construction - 1801.

The inner walls of the temple is decorated with numerous paintings of the 19th century masters. From the interior of the church to the present day   iconostasis, made in Baroque-Renaissance style. According to some researchers, it exists in the Church since its inception.

In the construction of the church masters managed to embody the best traditions of the art of folk architecture of the Carpathian edge at the time. The characteristic motifs are traced combined details strict observance of the rules in the construction of the temple, the beautiful outline of the building.

Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Tysmenytsia refers to outstanding works of masters who worked in the style of Hutsul folk architecture. She is one of the rarest amazing architectural and artistic ensemble including religious buildings. Owned by the Greek Catholic Church of the Diocese.
