Memorial to commemorate the liberation Ternivka

History Ternivka

Now it is one of the areas in the north of the Central District, in Nikolaev. And earlier here on the orders of Empress Catherine II lived Turks, who were the subjects of the Russian Empire. In 1795 Ternivka built in Muslim mosque, which was later rebuilt in the Orthodox Church. By the way, in those days was called the Turkish village Ternovka. Name of the settlement comes from Ternivka river flowing these places.

In 1918 came in Ternivka Soviets - land taken under the collective, the village became the center of the farm to them. V. Kolarov.

In the Second World War took part in 221 native Ternivka. After the end of hostilities 128 soldiers received awards for his military exploits, and 85, unfortunately, the end of the war did not survive.

Liberation of the village and construction of the memorial

But in the pages of history and memory imprinted date - March 27, 1944. This day is considered to be the date of release Ternivka from German occupation regime. And a day Mykolayiv also became free.

Ternivka liberated 203 Sivashskoe-Hinhanska Infantry Division. For the freedom of his own life settlement price paid 258 soldiers. They were buried on the territory of the district. In 1966, a memorial was established to commemorate the liberation Ternivka. Every year here, on March 27, going local, to honor the memory of fallen soldiers.
