In contrast to the churches who have been severely tested during the Soviet regime, music and drama theater survived only a change of name: named after its creator Sibiryakova, the theater was named the October Revolution. Music and Drama institution was in 1930, and in 1995 - was given a new name: Ukrainian director and playwright Basil cornflowers, who headed a long time theater troupe.

The theater features a diversity of productions in the spectrum: from classics to contemporary pieces by Ukrainian authors to writers and playwrights of world renown. At the time, thanks to performances of music and drama theater, Ukrainian viewers were able to discover authors such as Bertolt Brecht and William Shakespeare. During its existence, the theater provided the scene of many great actors: Natalia Uzhviy, Ivan Tverdokhlib, Lydia Matsievskaya, Yuri Shumsky and many others.

To date, the theater has a lot of performances that are winners of international theater festivals. However, he continues to experiment, to cooperate inviting the most talented and well-known foreign filmmakers.
