Monument Crossing the Danube

Military   monument "Crossing the Danube" is located near the Ukrainian-Romanian border   (7 km from the village. Novoselskoe in the Odessa region). The monument was erected on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the day the Russian troops crossing the Danube during the war the Russian state with Turkey in 1828-1829, respectively. At this point, Nicholas I with an army crossed the Danube and was preparing to march on Constantinople. As you know, the campaign ended with the signing of Adrianople agreement.

Massive black obelisk made of cast iron, set on a hill, which leads to the stairs.   Pedestal is decorated with two-headed eagles Russian national emblem and four Turkish guns at that time. Significant and grandeur monument gives protection from cement pillars and a strong chain.

Memorial symbolizes the military spirit, glory and victory in battle. This is the inscription that mentions the successful completion of a military campaign.
