Hydrological reserve

Dairy Estuary - a unique estuary in the Zaporozhye region. It is part of the Sea of ​​Azov. Its length is about 32 km, width - 8 km and depth - about 3 km. Total area of ​​Dairy estuary reaches 170 sq. km. The name of the estuary received   thanks to the river Dairy, which flows into it. He is also the mouth of rivers and Dzhekelnya Taschenak. From the sea estuary separates Spit Peresyp and near Kyrylivka connected only by a small strait, which over time became clogged, and as a result, was followed by blockage of an active estuary. This happened a long time until 2011, when the authorities of Zaporizhzhya , it was decided to take measures to save the estuary.

Since 1974, the estuary became   Hydrological monument of national importance, in 2010 it became part of the   Azov National Park, which occupied the territory of Berdyansk, Melitopol, Azov and Akimov areas. Total reserve covers an area of ​​over 78 thousand hectares.

Dairy estuary - a place where many valuable species of nesting birds,   14 of which are listed as endangered and unique species then find a place to spawn. On the shore of the estuary there are several children`s camps and lodges. Milk liman- one of the best places for recreation and eco-tourism in the whole of Ukraine.
