Large and Small Sands

Large and Small Kuchugury are sand dunes slabovskholmlennye arrays. They are located in the floodplain terraces Kahovsky reservoir. These islands are common on many rivers of Ukraine. But a lot of them especially in the eastern part of the Dnieper.

Kuchugury are state bird sanctuary since 1974. Area of ​​the reserve is 4 km away. Total 13 islands is at a distance of 10-12 km from the coast. They are in the Zaporozhye region in the vicinity of the station Tavriysk. Island formed by the construction of the Kakhovka reservoir. Human access to them is difficult because of the bushes and reeds.

Large and Small Kuchugury - a place for breeding of rare species of birds. Tracts of sand on the shore became the basis for the construction of large cities such as Enerhodar . With such a location, Enerhodar does not occupy the area of ​​fertile land, which is very positive effect on the nature of the Zaporozhye region.
