Spadshchansky Forest

Spadshchansky Forest is located near the town of Putivel in Sumy region. It is the birthplace of the victorious guerrilla movement headed by S. Kovpaka and S. Rudnev. It was here in 1941, was established squad that brilliantly parried several attacks of the enemy, and then was transformed into a partisan association and acted throughout the USSR. Spadshchansky Forest - a memorial complex, each component of which tells the story of a guerrilla army.

Memorial opens stele "People`s Avengers", which depicts the wall and the face of ordinary people who have been in defense of their homeland. In the center of the complex is   Museum of Partisan Glory , and next to it is a monument of Partisan Glory, which is a pedestal with a partisan figure, takes a step towards the enemy. The museum`s exhibits are dedicated to the legendary historical events and the memory of the people who risk their lives for the good of the motherland. The complex is located a mass grave guerrillas.   9 available to visitors restored dugouts. In 2008 was opened museum of arms and military equipment , which exhibits are fighting trucks and equipment that have been in service with the guerrillas.
