Holy Transfiguration Church, New Vodolaga

In the center of the village of New Vodolaga   Kharkiv region is the blue and white of the Holy Transfiguration Church. At this place in 1750 was a wooden church of the Transfiguration. And in 1821 instead laid the stone church. Its construction was completed with the assistance of the congregation in 1830. Consecrated the temple in 1831.

Building   It is an example of postklassitsizma. His frames built in 1884 a stone fence with metal gates. This appearance of the temple gives it a resemblance to a fortress. In the same year, with the east side of the church was built a chapel of Alexander II, the memory of the deceased.

In 1920 the church was banned and confiscated all the Bolsheviks value. In the years 1937-1943 served as the granary of the construction and the service in the church was restored.   Here there are many images and paintings of talented craftsmen. The most revered face - St. Joasaph of Belgorod.
