Church of the Archangel Michael, Rokitne
The main attraction of the small village Rakitnoe that in the Kharkiv region, is the temple of the Archangel Michael. It was built at the expense of Colonel M. Kulikovskii in 1805. Originally on this place there was a wooden church.
The temple is made in the classic style. Construction admire its size and power. White-stone building succinctly combines columns, circular room, "cut through" windows, dome with a gilded cross. The facade of the temple is decorated with three icons located at the entrance of white statues of angels.
In the past, the church was quite rich. Parishioners admired silver chandelier with multiple lamps, prayed before the image of the Savior in silver chasuble and before the icons in expensive antique carved frame. Majesty gave erected in 1827 a two-tier bell tower, the first level of which was decorated with columns, and the second - pilasters. During the Soviet period the church was closed, and the bell tower collapsed.
Restoration works were started in 1992, and in 1998 the faithful were again able to hold services. Currently, the church operates.
