The memorial complex in honor of the Soviet soldiers, Zaporozhye

Description of the memorial complex
The memorial complex in honor of the Soviet soldiers was established in 1975. The authors of the project were the sculptor and architect V. Dubinin V. Shinkarev. In the mass graves memorial complex buried more than 1.5 million soldiers. They lost their lives in 1943, freeing the Zaporizhzhya from fascist troops.
A key element of the complex is the figure of a woman. Cocking his head to the ground, as if she salutes the fallen heroes, shed bitter tears of loss. On either side there are stone steles. On them were written the names of the soldiers buried here. Among them there are a few heroes of the Soviet Union. Many have received the title posthumously.

Not far from the memorial in honor of Soviet soldiers set yet another monument to the person to whom the Cossacks owe their liberation. It is a monument to Marshal Chuikov Vasily Ivanovich.
