Zaporozhye - a city with an amazing history. So different people inhabited it at some point in history. Each of them has contributed to the modern appearance of Zaporozhye. Some of these people were Mennonites. In memory of these men and the tragedy that befell them, a monument in one of the city parks.

Description of the monument Mennonites

The monument was unveiled in October 2009. The author of the composition was made by a Canadian Mennonite Paul Epp. Memorial dedicated to the memory of Mennonites, who in 30 years have been the victims of Stalinist repression and religious persecution. The monument has turned out extremely touching. The monument is composed of 3 granite slabs. Each slab is carved image of a man, a woman and two children. According to the author, the monument is a bookshelf with pictures of them pulled out their characters.

Mennonites - an offshoot of the Protestants. It was relocated from Germany and Poland to the land under Catherine the Great. They had a great influence on the architecture and cultural development of the city. Until now preserved in Zaporozhye not typical for our area of ​​construction.
