Alley wooden figures, Myrgorod

For Mirgoroda April 1 - a special date. It is the birthday of Nikolay Gogol, who spoke about the city and its residents over the world. In 2013, in celebration of the 204 anniversary of the birth of Gogol opened the wooden walkway figures in Mirgorod.

The history of the alley

The most interesting is that the walkway wooden figures was created before our eyes. In celebration of locals and visitors Mirgoroda can see how a piece of wood gradually show through images of Thomas Brutus, Taras Bulba and others.

In the city for the festival "Gogol Park" masters gathered from almost all over Ukraine. Legless sculptor Albert Fattahov of Pryluky elaborately carved chainsaw vazheznoyu Taras Bulba, bound with chains.

A little further we see a sculpture of Thomas Brutus "Via" on his knees in front of the Bible and Vakula "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka" devil on horseback.
