Church of St. Nicholas, Belenky

Church of St. Nicholas is located in the village of Belenky Zaporozhye region. It was founded in 2005. It is now the rector M. Fetisov. At first glance, the building, which houses the church might not seem familiar, as the room itself was not built as a church. Once the house was part of the estate Miklashevsky.

History of the church of St. Nicholas

The first mention of the village date back to 1770 Belenky year. Here on the banks of the river of the same name was founded a settlement. The first of its inhabitants became Cossacks and peasants that had fled from Chernigov. In 1802 the owner of the village becomes M. Miklashevskii. After some time, the number of population increases, with the 1848 launch here tar and cooperage factories, as well as the company, which was engaged in lard. Miklashevskii using the wizard creates a farm, it in good condition preserved to this day.

In one of the buildings of the former estate now houses the local village school, and the other is just the temple of St. Nicholas. The village was established by the time the typical image of: hut-hut, embroidered towels on the walls and windows, whitewashed cottage with traditional ornaments, benches against the wall on the street, and many other items.

From 1835 to 1917, just before the revolution, in the room of the present church was a school for children. Already from 1917 to 2005, then it housed a sewing workshop. And only in 2005 there is a temple of St. Nicholas.

How to get to the church of St. Nicholas in Belenkiy

From Zaporizhzhya region, in which there is a village fair, access to the temple is not difficult. The road stretches almost 17 km, so you can use public transport or private car.
