Chapel St. Panteleimon, Zaporozhye

Chapel of St. Panteleimon is located in the city of Zaporozhye. It is located on the hospital grounds of the plant "Motor Sich", which is considered one of the best clinics in Ukraine. The chapel erected in honor of the healer and Panteleimon.

History of the chapel of St. Panteleimon

Pantaleon was born in Nicomedia, his family was the Gentiles, so his father sent his son to a pagan school. Upon completion of training Panteleimon was sent to study at the well-known at the time the doctor Euphrosyne, who was supposed to teach the boy the doctor`s case. During the exercises there was a story that the healer and helped to believe in Christ, he was able to revive the power of the prayer of the dead child from a snake bite. After that, Pantalaimon became a free doctor. Of course, such a situation could not but affect the profits of other doctors, they wrote a report to the Emperor. When Panteleimon arrived at the reception, the Emperor asked him to deny everything written in denunciation. Healer asked to lead the terminally ill, the heathen, and then he will try to cure him, who can do it - that faith and truthful. Ultimately Panteleimon could heal. Many people converted to Christianity, but the Emperor did not like it and he ordered the killing of a healer. What is not only a way of trying to destroy it: drowned in the sea, thrown to wild animals, hung on a tree and burned candles, thrown into hot tin and much more. Healer remained alive, then he tried to cut off the head, but nothing can succeed. When he prayed, he heard a voice from heaven which called him the kingdom of heaven. Then the saint asked to execute his plan, his body was thrown into the fire, but it was not burned. He was buried by Christians.
