The history of the church of St. Xenia
Saint Xenia was born in the 18th century, but the exact date is unknown. Scientists call it the birth of a sample period from 1719 to 1730. When she came of age, the married Colonel Alexander Petrov. The family lived in St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, long life together is not destined to a young couple. Her husband died when Xenia was 26 years old. She distributed all the property of the poor and gave his house girlfriend. Xenia chose the hard way foolishness. She put on her clothes, and her husband in such a wandering in St. Petersburg, said all that it is - it is her dead husband, and Xenia died. Since then, she responded only to the husband. Around 1803, when Xenia was 71 years old, she died. She was buried in the Smolensk cemetery, and later there was built a chapel. On the grave of people came to pray with faith that it will help solve their problems. In 1988, Xenia canonized.
