Museum Zabolotnogo
In a small but very beautiful village Zabolotnov in Vinnitsa region all reminiscent of the outstanding scientist Daniel Kirillovich Zabolotny. Before the birth of the famous scientist village bore the name Chebotarka. But the time and in the village there were street Zabolotny and museum, and then the whole village was renamed in his honor.
Daniel K. became the first in many ways: the Department of Bacteriology opened in St. Petersburg and the Department of Epidemiology in Odessa , founded the eponymous institute in Kiev , created anti-plague laboratory, wrote the first textbook on epidemiology, initiated the foundation of the Vinnitsa Medical Institute. And thanks to experiments during World War I was able to provide troops resistance to various epidemics.
What to see in the museum Zabolotnogo
Memorial Museum Zabolotnogo opened in 1930. It is a whole complex, combining:
- The house where he was born microbiologist;
- Garden, in which he walks;
- Construction of the exposition tells the story of a scientist;
- Next to the grave of his wife, where he found the last refuge of the academician.
Diligent hands cherish the house in the form as it was during the life of a scientist. In the central room of the house is set a wax figure of the doctor, which is about bent in a respectful attitude, come help the farmer. All is left intact: the book and the interior, a hat and a microscope.
The scientist traveled extensively and each time returning home, wanted to bring some novelty. Even today, walking through the garden of family, can be seen growing next to a cherry and Ussuri maple, poplar and Karelian birch.
