Stefanovskaya Church, Rivne

One of the oldest cemeteries in Rovno is Stefanivska church. We started it in 1848 to lay the means general`s Catherine Krasovsky at the grave of her late husband Stephen Krasowski. She donated the church in 1000 rubles. The temple was dedicated in honor of St. Archdeacon Stephen Protomartyr February 23, 1850. Earlier in place of the present church was the chapel.

The wooden church with a bell tower Stefanivska built in the classical style. The temple is cruciform structure, precise proportions inherent classicism.

As noted above, the church is located in one of the oldest cemeteries "Hrabnyk" in Rovaniemi, which is an important historical landmark. They called it so obvious because many elms grow here. The first burials there dating back 20 years, we are the 19th century. The entrance to the cemetery decorated with a massive wrought iron gates that are produced in the late 18th and early 19th century. That "Hrabnyk" became the last refuge for the father and sister of writer Vladimir Korolenko.
