Monument to Soviet gunners
In honor of the brave Soviet gunners in Kirovograd erected a monument, which is popularly called the "Katyusha". It is rocket launchers with 132 mm shells placed on a truck ZIS-5.
The history of the monument to Soviet gunners
The monument was inaugurated in 1974 in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders. Originally a truck mounted rocket launcher was later years that was a serious mistake in the presentation of wartime. Therefore, after some time fighting "Katyusha" has undergone repair.
On the day of 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of Kirovograd Executive Committee adopted a decision on the restoration of the monument to Soviet gunners. Based on the solutions were allowed to temporarily remove military equipment to upgrade, which started organizing "Oldtimers". The restored monument was returned to the former on 25 April 2010.
