Memorial of Glory, Kovel
Memorial of Glory in Kovel - is one of the largest memorials in the country. It differs from similar sites is not just a large number of exact names of the dead soldiers, but also by the presence on it of photographic copies of individual characters carved in stone.
Guests can explore the site of the battle for the city, which killed several hundred people. There is an eternal flame and regularly updated commemorative wreaths of flowers.
The history of the Memorial of Glory
Kovel memorial of Fame was opened in 1977, designed by local architects. It consists of a large stone plaque with a list of the dead, with fire pedestal and sculpture warrior.
The tragic events of the Second World War left an indelible mark on the lives of all kovelchan. Until 1944 the German occupiers had shot 3,500 civilians and 11 thousand prisoners. The list includes the Glory Memorial Heroes of the Soviet Union, died in the battle for Kovel release in January 1944.
Brave soldiers were devoted to:
- a feature film in 1984, "In the woods near Kovel";
- Jubilee commemorative badge;
- dozens of streets named after the names of the fallen heroes.

You can get here by any public transport plying in the center of Kovel. Entrance to the memorial is located on the street side of Independence, next to a small park.
