Church of St. John the Evangelist, Shtun
Church of St. John the Evangelist in the village Shtun is an architectural monument of national importance. And even now, the temple retains its unique beauty and grandeur.
The history of the Church of John the Theologian
Church of St. John the Evangelist was built at the expense of the local landowner in 1777. In the same year it was added in the courtyard of the church bell tower. The original plan of the two buildings is fully consistent with the chosen style Ukrainian classicism. Over the years, the building of the main temple was restored many times, which has made its appearance some differences from the bell tower.
In the period of religious persecution (early 20th century) Church of St. John the Evangelist could not resist. The temple was used as a utility room, and by the early 1980s, has resumed full service.

The interior of the church is particularly noteworthy. Here are collected dozens of precious icons, partially preserved wall paintings with biblical themes.
How to get to the temple of the Divine in Shtune
Church of St. John the Evangelist is located in the village of Shtun Volyn region. The shortest way to the village lies on the route Lutsk towards Lyuboml. Shtun village is on the left side of the road, and the church can be found on the outskirts of the village, in the north-western part.
