Monument to Daniel of Galicia
Monument to the Grand Duke and the King Volyn Galician-Volyn land in Galicia is located in the central part of the city. Nearby is the Church of the Nativity . The composition of the monument consists of a pedestal height of about 3.5 meters, on which rises a bronze figure of a rider height of 4.2 m. The prince is depicted on horseback, his right arm drawn back and holding a sword. Left he holds the reins of the horse.
The history of the monument
This place was not chosen by chance in the first place the monument easily visible from different angles. Also, local historians believe that this area, and there were coming quarters is due to the initiative of the Grand Duke. They built them for foreign merchants.
The authors of the project were Lviv architect and sculptor A. Chamara A. Pylev. Unveiled a monument to the 1100th anniversary of the city in 1998. Monument Danilo Galitsky - one of the main attractions of the city, after the name of the prince is deeply intertwined with the history of Galich and Volyn region`s total.
