Panteleimonovskaya church, Sumy
Panteleimonovskaya church in Sumy is a former church Orthodox monastery. This monastery is located on the outskirts of Sumy, which was called fistula. Ensemble Panteleimon monastery included a church and seminary room for the guards.
History Panteleimon church
Panteleimonovskaya church designed by Russian architect Aleksey Viktorovich Shchusev. Built in the Pskov, Novgorod style of 12-13 centuries. The temple is dvobannym, rectangular in structure, chetyrehstopnym. Windows elongated and rounded at the top. On the west side of the temple attached two-tiered bell tower. Religious School, former bishop`s body - rectangular two-storey building.
Start of construction accounts for 1915 and after 5 years Panteleimonovskaya church was completely built. In 1920, at the bishop`s courtyard was a monastery.
In connection with the atheistic policy of the Union Panteleimon monastery was closed in 1930. Since then and until 1963 Panteleymonovskaya service held in the church. In the early 80s of the 20th century church tried to remake at the planetarium, but in 1990 a church bishop`s body and lodge gave parishioners.
Thanks to the restoration of the church acquired nearly its original appearance.
