Monument to General Radetzky, Odessa

Monument to General of the Russian Empire Fedor Fedorovich Radetzky was delivered in 1891. The initiator of the majestic monument made warlord`s widow, became the chief architect B. Sherwood, famous for dozens of works of this style throughout the state.

Unique in its scope and the general ideological monument installed on the grave of General, which later came all the family vault near Radetzky. Stone composition of the monument was fenced by tens of meters around a heavy iron chain of ornamental forging, metal protected eagles all around. Radetzky was presented in a full-length with triumphant sword in one hand, the Orthodox cross in the other. Unfortunately, the entire memorial complex was torn down after the change of power in the city in 1933.

Currently on the site of the destroyed family crypt is a memorial stone with a cross and an information sign. Modern installation appeared in June 2011 in honor of the memory of the great commander and conqueror, whose qualities of character were conquered peaks and dozens of targets.
