St. Anthony, Losyach

The main architectural monument of the village is the church of St. Anthony in Losyachi. From the rock-Podolsky its sharp spire rising above the horizon for a few kilometers before entering the village. On the opposite bank of the artificial lake from which the river flows Gypsy, the church appears in all its "medieval" beauty.

church History

Church of St. Anthony built in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Some sources indicated 1889 summary. Construction was carried out with funds Goluchowski family.

In Soviet times the building was used as a warehouse. In 1990 the church was returned to the Catholic community Losyacha.

The church in the style of Romanesque-Gothic has a high peaked bell tower that dominates the surrounding landscape. Rough texture of the walls and the side buttresses added features medieval church. Previously feature of the church was the roof, but in 2008, excluding the value of architectural structures, it blocked the modern metal roof tiles.

Near the church is located stone mill in 1872.

How to get there

Church of St. Anthony is beside the road on the outskirts of the village. Opposite, across the road, lies a picturesque lake. By Losyach village road can be reached from the city T2001 Chertkov , which goes through the village factory, Shmankovchyky, Kolyndyany and Davydkivtsi.
