Castle Chernokozintsah

The castle was built in the second half of the 14th century near the river Zbruch its high left bank, at a time when the ruled the Lithuanian princes. The castle walls have a thickness of 1.9 to 3.6 m and was a safe haven. In 1674 Podillya was conquered by Turkish troops and the city fell under the yoke of Ottoman rule. Turks completely destroyed the castle, but it was soon restored in full, it has allocated funds for episcopal Kamenetz-Podolsk.
In 1795, the territory skirts passed into the possession of the Russian Empire and the castle for some time used by border troops, but not for very long. After a while the military garrison was withdrawn from this, it does not remain the owners and it is empty. The fortress was unable to move the two wars, although in 1914 there were digging trenches, and gradually began to deteriorate. At the end of the Second World War it was used as a base and NKVD troops have survived even some of its underground.
