Rivne Nature Reserve
Rivne Nature Reserve is the second largest in Ukraine. It is located on the territory of four districts: Volodymyrets, Dubrovnik, Sarny and Rokytnivskiy. It occupies an area of over 42 thousand hectares. The reserve is designed to protect the pristine nature of the different landscape zones, as well as the flora and fauna that live there and are listed as endangered.
History Rivne Nature Reserve
Rivne Nature Reserve was established in 1999 by presidential decree. It combines four previously distinct and separate reserve that existed since 1984: Landscape, zoological, botanical and hydrological. Within the reserve are the largest and best preserved swamp in the whole Ukraine. It helps to maintain and develop the nature of Polesye.
Flora and fauna of Rivne Nature Reserve
Rivne Reserve has a great diversity of plants and animals. Among them, many are in the Red Book of Ukraine and different lists of endangered plants and animals of international organizations. Reserve conventionally divided into forests and swamps. Among the major role forests have made a pine and pine-birch forests. Is White Lake, but it is not a reserve, access to it is open to all. Among the plants can be found: dioecious sedge, willow Lapland, birch and many others. Among animals there are different types: wolf, fox ordinary, weasel, ermine, grouse, lynx, black stork, hawks, snakes, badger, otter, weasel, bison, eagle owl, marsh turtle, Triton and many others.
In addition to the protection of the reserve and its workers perform educational work among the population. So it was published a number of articles and books have been removed transmission in 2006 opened its own educational center with a library and a museum of nature.
