How to visit Egyptian pyramids without leaving Ukraine

11985

Healing power of pyramids has been told since ancient times. Egyptologists believe that the unique structure of a pyramid accumulates cosmic energy that could heal body and soul. Anyway, the pyramids remain a great unsolved mystery of mankind.

As you know, all the mysterious and otherworldly attracts millions of scientists and adventurers. And there is no tourist who had never dreamt to see this wonder of the world. However, to see the ancient pyramids and try to solve their secrets, it’s not necessary to visit Egypt. Pyramids can be found in Ukraine too. Although they are not so old and big as their “overseas brethren”, but they also have interesting and mysterious past.

The oldest Ukrainian pyramid is more than 130 years old. It is located in the small village of Komendantivka, Kobeliaky district, Poltava region.

Naval officer Alexander Bilevich was the first builder of pyramids on the territory of Ukraine. Historians think he visited Egypt many times and could get excited about its ancient architecture. And when in 1864 his young wife Sofia suddenly died, he decided to build for her a tomb worthy of the Egyptian pharaohs. It took 13 years to build the pyramid. Crude stone was used for the construction of 15 metres high. The pyramid occupies the territory of more than 100 square metres and consists of three tiers, which are interconnected by a complex of corridors. In the lower level there is a crypt – the Bileviches’ tomb.

Today, the pyramid is restored and very popular among tourists. A schedule bus runs from Kremenchug to Kobeliaky, a district centre. Kobeliaky, where you can take a taxi, is located 57 kilometres far from Komendantivka.

Another Ukrainian pyramid is located in the village of Berezova Rudka, Pyriatyn district of Poltava region.

It was built in 1898 by order of Ignatius Zakrevsky. Historians believe that he was a Freemason, was fond of the ancient Egyptian culture and served as an ambassador to Emperor Alexander III. Having returned from one of his trips, he decided to build a pyramid tomb in his family estate. Its outer surfaces look at four cardinal directions. The statue of goddess Isis, who was honoured by the Egyptians as the patron of health, marriage and love, can be seen at the entrance. The walls are decorated with quotations from the Bible and with Egyptian frescoes. The pyramid is 9 metres high. People are not allowed to get inside the pyramid – because of vandals the entrance was closed. However, you are still advised to visit this place – to see the tomb and Zakrevsky Palace with its beautiful park, on the territory of which the pyramid is located.

The most convenient way to get in Pyriatyn is by car. The road from Kyiv takes a bit above two hours. You should follow the highway M03, at the road sign Berezova Rudka turn left.

It should be noted that pyramids are built in Ukraine in our days too. So, in 2013, in the village of Kindrivka, not far from Kremenchug, a local craftsman Volodymyr Markovsky built the real pyramid to investigate its impact on the environment. This building of 6 metres high is an exact copy of the famous pyramid of Cheops.

Volodymyr is sure that the pyramid has the ability to structure and energize water. Locals already tell stories about miraculous healing through the pyramid.

Volodymyr Markovsky is planning to create a whole complex of such pyramids to study their effect on a human body. And then a lot of curious tourists, who want not only to take a look at the strange sights, but also to improve health, will certainly go to Kindrivka.
