The exhibition "Ukrainian book illustration", Kherson
The new exhibition "Ukrainian book illustration" starts to operate in the Kherson Regional Art Museum. OO Shovkunenko from 11 March 2015.
To the viewer presents 47 works by famous Ukrainian artists of the second half of the XX century stories of Ukrainian writers, rented daily, Franko, A. Cherry, Rylsky, Stefanik, Shevchenko and others.
Luminaries of the Ukrainian book design is considered to be a teacher, art critic and artist Vasily Ilyich Cassian. The artist worked in a variety of graphic techniques: engraving on metal, linoleum, wood, pencil and pen drawing, watercolors and lithographs.
The artist, who was destined to radically change the attitude of book illustration in Ukraine, was Sergei Adamovich Tadeyovych, disciple and follower O.O.Shovkunenka. Summarizing image literary subjects, the emphasis on the artist makes poetry praising the beauty Ukrainian customs and native wildlife.
In a similar manner to create images generalization worked well-known domestic schedule G. Yakutovich - People`s Artist of USSR State Prize of USSR them. TH Shevchenko. Each book in his work schedule was pivotal not only in the artist`s work, but also in the history of Ukrainian art.

Each cycle of illustrations made in the original style and technique of approaching the maximum content of a literary work.
Quite differently represented in the exhibition to illustrate the works of Taras Shevchenko. Especially attractive coryphaeus of book illustrations Vladimir Ilyich Masyk for which characteristic deep penetration in poetry Shevchenko words. The exhibition includes large-scale, hard-expressive etching and linocut Panfilov VV, Syrotenko YU.H, Filonov IN, which also illustrate the known works of Shevchenko.
The highlight of the exhibition is to illustrate the Ukrainian proverbs and stories created by UV and RS Adamovich. Both master immerse the viewer into a wonderful fairy-tale world where good always triumphs over evil. The exhibition is complemented by the sculptor-ceramists who skilfully and with humor and respect for national traditions, the characters are well-known literary works.
The exhibition represents only a small part of the work book graphics stored in the stock collection. Museum staff hope to continue to acquaint the audience with the works of famous Ukrainian illustrators.
