March 28, 2015 ARTSVIT Gallery will present an exhibition of Alexander Zhivotkina "Formula of silence" that will satiate the difficult period features and work of one of the most prominent masters of modern Ukrainian art.
This period, the length of just over a year, began with the dramatic upheavals winter 2013-14 period. Sharpened and at the same time thoughtful, "the seer to the root of" philosophic perception of social cataclysms sent the hand and heart of the artist to the black color and the cornerstone of the Gospel texts.
Fragments Zhyvotkov snatched at random, as if out of thin air - the same black from the soot and the pain of the air breathed Kiev in January-February 2014: "And bearing his cross went forth into a place called the Skull, in Hebrew - Calvary ... "

The second component of the "Formula of Silence" - a series of "Road. 2014-2015 ", launched Zhivotkovym almost immediately after the" Kiev. 2014 ", but" air "- color, textual background - they are quite different.
Generally speaking, the road Zhyvotkov wrote (and now cuts on wood) for a long time and a lot of. In different periods of life, the artist left his "roads" in a variety of "place", under which it is possible to understand and personal formation and purely professional development.
"Roads" this year - yellowish-buff, excision, wheat - it seems that even the smell of a field, earth, dirt road, fine dust, almost nailed rain. Equipped with quotations from the Old Testament Book of Ecclesiastes (translated from Hebrew - a preacher in the meeting), they are just asking to be understood and seen as a way that the preacher himself from one meeting to another. That`s just the content, the meaning of his sermons remain a mystery, silence, for every step of the way, I was all: the traveler and artist, and satellite.
The works of Alexander Zhivotkova are in museums of Kyiv, Khmelnitsky, Sumy, as well as Russia, the USA, Austria, in galleries and private collections in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
