Kerch, Lenins'kyi district

One of the most beautiful coastal cities of Ukraine is the Crimean city of Kerch. Since its territory is in the form of the peninsula, it is bordered by two seas: the Sea of ​​Azov to the north from the south and the Black. In the east of the city lies the Strait, which separates Ukraine from Russia. In Kerch you can enjoy the beauty and subtropical nature and the majesty of the ancient buildings.

 

Its history goes back long before the Greeks colonies policies. Here lived the warlike tribes of the Scythians and Cimmerians, as evidenced by numerous mounds in the city and beyond. There's also blossomed and faded away once mighty kingdom of Bosporus to the legendary capital of Bakhchisarai, in which the rules of the great Mithridates.

 

Resting in Kerch, you can visit some beautiful architectural structures, which are a reminder of the events, customs and culture of the peoples who lived there.

 

Familiarity with the history of the city to begin with a visit to the central Lenin Square. At this point, concentrated several ancient monuments. Mitridatskaya staircase that goes up to the mountain, is a symbol of the city of Kerch. It has 428 steps, several terraces and benches for rest. It was built at the narrowest part of the peninsula in the late 17th century, but, nevertheless, it could seat 12,000 soldiers.

 

Barrow on the square next to the bus station you can see Melek-Chesmensky mound. Another mound, called royal, located in the village on the Scythian Adzhimushkay street. When you get into the mound and get over a 36-meter corridor, you will see that it resembles an underground pyramid. Another unique attraction of this village are Adzhimushkay quarry. Here, underground work was done once for Kerch limestone.Mine stretch for miles under the city, forming a maze. In the village you can reach Adzhimushkay of Kerch bus, sitting on the bus which goes in the direction of the village Osoviny.

 

Be sure to visit one of the wonders of the Crimea - Chockruck Lake.
