City Library of Ukraine for Youth

The State Library of Ukraine for Youth in Kiev, opened its doors February 25, 1975 with the name assigned V. Vasilevsky. Formation of the library has been a complex process, since it was necessary to create a reference instrument, the literary turn out the base, organize numerous shelves, to develop new ways of working with different age groups of readers. First, there was room for students and pupils, and later opened a Department of Arts and then a room of foreign literature. In 2002, the number of employees has stepped for 140 people.

For more than 40 years the doors of the library open to children and youth. Warm atmosphere here, which allows to develop intellectually. Each book bears the knowledge and the library staff is committed to helping the reader to find the information he needs.

Today the library has more than 300,000 documents in a variety of printed and magnetic media. Every year the library subscribes to more than 700 periodicals. Create your own computer network and have Internet access, the building has its own internet facility. The number of users reached the 33,000th milestone and continues to increase. The greatest demand library uses students and high school students, junior high school students come less often.

Library invites children with their parents to visit one of literature to expose that are held here regularly. Experienced librarians interested in the child`s fascinating book. Youth Library strives to educate the younger generation morally, spiritually and preserve Ukrainian traditions.
