Museum of the national liberation struggle, Lviv

Museum of the national liberation struggle in Lviv was opened October 13, 2012 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. The museum is located in the former trigger Society (military organization of the city). The building is an original architectural monument of early historicism.

Expositions museum

In several rooms of the museum of national liberation struggle are history Ukrainian opposition from the late 19th century and the 90s of the 20th century.

The first and second rooms you get acquainted with the activities of sports and youth organizations "January" and "Falcon" whose main purpose was to educate healthy and patriotic youth of Galicia and Bukovina. The room is a map of 1913, which marked the so-called "nests" (branch) organizations. It also introduces you to the history of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen - the first military formation Ukraine in the 20th century. Among the exhibits are unique photographs, fragments of weapons that were brought from the mountain domes.

Also in the museum an important place reserved events Ukrainian Revolution (1917-1921 years), the establishment of the UPR and ZUNR documents Central Council. Also here you can see the shape, weapons, documents Ukrainian Galician Army.

In the third room contains documents and things interwar period. Guides will tell you the stages of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Ukrainian military organization. Also here you can follow the chronology of the creation of the Carpathian Ukraine and rebellion in Transcarpathia. The hall display personal items Augustine Voloshin (President of Carpathian Ukraine).

In this hall highlights the activities of Ukrainian military units "Roland" and "Nachtigall" exhibited documents relating to the Act of Ukrainian Statehood June 30, 1941.

One of the exhibits devoted to the history separate division "Galicia". The museum documents describes the Division participated in the Battle of Brody (1944), personal insignia military.

There is also a separate exhibition where you can get acquainted with the materials, which tells about the criminal activities of the Bolsheviks in western Ukraine, about life and the life of the Galicians in Siberian camps.

There are also exhibition devoted to Ukrainian and sixties of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group.

Museum of national liberation struggle is located in Lviv on the street Lysenko, 23a. This southern part of the landscape park "Znesinnia" .
